Frequently asked questions

The questions families ask most before their athlete starts — answered plainly.

Before you start

Why hire a strength and conditioning coach?

Most school and club programs are written for a whole team, often by a coach from a different sport, with too many athletes per coach to scale the work to each one. A strength and conditioning coach measures the individual athlete and builds the mobility, stability and strength their sport needs — especially through the hips, upper back and shoulders, which drive jumping, arm speed and first-step quickness.

What ages do you work with?

Our programs are built for middle school and high school club athletes, roughly 12 to 18.

Which sports do you train?

Aaron has coached athletes across many sports for more than 20 years. We have dedicated programs for volleyball, soccer, softball, basketball, gymnastics, baseball, golf and swimming — each with its own site linked at the bottom of this page.

What results do athletes get?

Athletes get measurably quicker and more powerful, and we retest so you can see it in numbers. Over 20+ years, athletes Aaron has trained have earned more than 150 college scholarships, over 100 of them Division I, and include 14 High School All-Americans and 13 national team members. Individual results always depend on the athlete, their age and their consistency.

Should we wait until college scouts show interest?

No. Physical development takes seasons, not weeks. Starting earlier means the athlete is already stronger, faster and more durable when the attention arrives.

Is Aaron certified?

Yes. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA), a Youth Fitness Specialist (IYCA), a Functional Movement Screen instructor, a StrongFirst Level II instructor and a CrossFit Level II instructor, among others. The full list is on the About page.

How much does it cost?

Online coaching is $199, $349 or $699 a month. In-person small-group training in Apex is $130, $220 or $285 every two weeks, for one, two or three sessions a week. Details are on the Services page.

We are already busy. What is the time commitment?

The program is built around the athlete’s school and club schedule, so it adds structure rather than overload. In-person athletes train one to three times a week; online athletes follow a plan sized to their week.

Is online coaching as good as in person?

Both run the same system and the same coach. Online athletes get a written program, video form feedback and coaching calls. In person adds a coach watching every rep. We train in person at The Performance Academy in Apex for families in Apex, Cary, Raleigh, Holly Springs, Fuquay-Varina and Morrisville.

What happens when programs fill up?

In-person groups are capped at 3–5 athletes. When a group is full, we add you to a waitlist and tell you when a spot opens.

Are parents involved?

Yes. Parents are part of the process from the first call, and there is a parent conversation about how to support the athlete with sleep and nutrition. Online plans include parent pod calls.

How do we sign up?

Schedule a call. We talk through goals and fit, then the athlete and a parent complete a short questionnaire, and we set up the first evaluation.
